Apologies for the lapse again. It’s been a busy couple of months including a significant change of venue for me. After re-evaluating some priorities and life events, I have been fortunate enough to be able to join the Data Transfer Solutions development team in Fort Collins, CO. In a former life, I worked with Dave and Jeff for about 6 years so this is sort of like coming home…only the fam has been doing some real cool stuff and polishing their kung-fu while I was gone.
The last couple of days have been spent repaving machines and miscellaneous setup stuff and paperwork…sort of like syllabus day for classes during the first week of a college term. Today I’m getting down and dirty with Microsoft ASP.NET MVC, the very shiny, chrome covered toolset for building the latest and greatest Web 2.0 apps. Later today I’ll be jumping into the deep end on an ArcGIS Server web site port for a state government client…think MVC, REST, JS API…all the goodies.
The DTS folks are fairly supportive of the whole blogging and information sharing thing so my plan is to keep my head above water sufficiently so I have time to be posting more regularly with tips, tricks, etc. Stay tuned.
